Sasha Marlan-Librett (she/her)

Artistic Director/Choreographer

Sasha is a contemporary dancer and emerging choreographer currently based in NYC and is TAQ Dance’s director, choreographer, and occasional performer. Sasha received a BA (Summa Cum Laude) in Dance and Philosophy from Scripps College. At school in Los Angeles, she collaborated in processes with Rosanna Tavarez, Kevin Williamson, and Rebecca Lemme, among others. Since graduating, Sasha performed with Monica Bill Barnes + Co in “The Running Show” at the American Dance Festival and has performed new works-in-progress pieces Peter Chu, Ana Maria Lucaciu, Laja Field, Adam Barruch, Lea Ved, and Sidra Bell and has workshopped rep with Brian Brooks and Doug Varone and Dancers as part of GibneyPRO training program. Sasha has created and performed in live choreographic works for TAQ Dance and film collaborations with Soap Impressions, showing work at venues such as Gibney, Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, Estia, The Tank, and Dixon Place Theater. Her work currently explores existential questions through dance-theater aesthetics.    

Lucia Flexer-Marshall

Performer and Company Manager

Lucia is a Brooklyn-based contemporary dancer and filmmaker, holding a BA in Dance from UC Santa Cruz. Growing up in California, she trained at the Oakland Ballet School and Shawl Anderson Dance Center. Lucia has performed across the Bay Area and New York, with companies including Alessandra Corona Performing Works, Ziru Dance, Garrett & Moulton Productions, Dragons Dance, and Fullstop Dance. She is also the co-creator of the dance film project Soap Impressions with her creative partner Joaquin Bear. Their work has been screened at SF Dance Film Festival, Gibney, Estia Day Fest, and ODD Film Festival.

Tori Mazzacone

Original Company Member, Performer

Tori grew up in the valley of the sun- Phoenix, Arizona. She trained at Scottsdale College, the Peridance training Program, and GibneyPRO. She received her BFA from Alonzo King LINES Ballet at Dominican University in 2018. While in Phoenix, she was a full-time dancer with CONDER/Dance. To further support her training, she has attended rigorous intensives such as Springboard Danse Montréal. Tori has had the chance to work with choreographers such as Idan Sharabi, Katie Scherman, Sidra Bell, Laja Field, Carlos Kerr Jr., and Doron Perk. She is currently an NYC based freelance dancer with More Fish Dance Company under Doron Perk, and TAQ dance under Sasha Marlan-Librett. Alongside her dance career, Tori is a GYROTONIC® trainer.

Alexis Vinzons

Performer

Alexis Vinzons is a New York City-based freelance dance artist from Westchester, NY. She is a facilitator of Emergent Improvisation, a practice crafted by Troy Ogilvie and Omar Zubair, held regularly at Gibney Dance Center and Peridance Center. Her improvisation practice takes an anatomical approach and investigates honesty, spontaneity, curiosity, and care as essential lenses for engaging with and reconnecting to dance. She holds a B.A. from Cornell University, where she studied Information Science, art history, and dance. 

Hannah Hardy

Performer

Hardy is a freelance artist based in New York originally from Salt Lake City, UT. In May 2024 she completed the GibneyPRO Certificate Program under the direction of Alexandra Wells & Bret Yamanaka working with choreographers Peter Chu, Ana Maria Lucaciu, Laja Field, Adam Barruch, Lea Ved & Sidra Bell. As a Guest Apprentice of Gibney Company’s 2024 Summer Tour, Hardy performed Bliss by Johan Inger at the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur, Chautauqua Amphitheater & Jacob’s Pillow. She received her BFA from Brigham Young University and further trained across Europe at Orsolina28, ImPulsTanz, Henny Jurriëns Studio, & Deltebre Dansa. In all her work, Hardy strives to create joy and promote inclusion in the spaces she enters.

Megan Siepka

Performer

Megan is a Brooklyn based dancer, choreographer, and educator from Richmond, Virginia who completed her BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020. Siepka sought further training from Sidra Bell, Laja Martin, Andrea Miller, and Ohad Naharin. In 2022, Siepka attended Springboard Danse Montreal before joining the inaugural GibneyPRO cohort. They currently work as a collaborator and performer with Baye & Asa and as a guest dancer with the Mark Morris Dance Group. Siepka also directs movement for fashion houses and commercial music artists such as Helmut Lang, LAPOINTE, and PARADISE productions.

Steve Bangerter

Performer

Steve is an interdisciplinary artist from American Fork, Utah with a background in world dance, contemporary dance, percussion performance, voice, and stage acting. He has danced with International Folk Dance Ensemble, the Utah Metropolitan Ballet, and various stage musical productions. Steven has had the opportunity to work with various artists including Laja Field, Larkin Poynton, Omar Román De Jesús, Cameron McKinney, Jesse Obremski, Florian Lochner, Alice Klock and many more during his time with BYU’s contemporary dance theater company where Steven is currently a resident with Sleep No Moore.

Yang Sun

Performer

is a dancer, choreographer, and visual artist. She holds a Summa cum laude Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Dance from Amherst College. Her strong bond with movements started with improvisation practices in the field, cafeteria, and other non-traditional spaces. Following her improvisation journey, she trained in Contemporary, Ballet, and Hip Hop through the Five College Dance programs. She is a member of Yoshiko Chuma School of Hard Knocks.

Joaquin Bear

Director, photographer, video editor, and animator based in Brooklyn. Co-creator of Soap Impressions, a dance-film production company.
